LIBERIA RECOMMENDS US$973,000 IN GRANTS FOR 194 ENTERPRISES

MONROVIA — The Government of Liberia has recommended 194 enterprises for financial support under the Liberia Women Empowerment Project, with the proposed grants valued at approximately US$973,000.

The recommendation followed a review by the Independent Proposal Evaluation and Approval Committee (IPEAC), which assessed 202 applications submitted from Bomi, Grand Cape Mount and rural Montserrado counties. The initiative is being implemented through the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection and is intended to support women-led businesses and livelihood activities.

According to information published Monday, the committee recommended 194 applications for funding after completing its assessment process. The proposed grants are part of government efforts to expand access to economic opportunities and support household livelihoods.

However, the recommendation does not by itself establish that the funds have already been disbursed to beneficiaries. Details on the final approval process, the identities of beneficiaries, the timing of disbursement and the monitoring arrangements for funded enterprises have not been fully disclosed in the available reports.
