Liberia Tech Summit Highlights Push for Smarter Digital Government

Liberia’s Tech Summit 2026 brought government, development partners and innovators together around digital transformation, public-service modernization and youth skills.

MONROVIA — Liberia’s digital transformation drive took center stage at the Liberia Tech Summit 2026, where government leaders, development partners, innovators and young technology professionals discussed ways to build a smarter and more citizen-centered public sector.

The summit focused on digital public infrastructure, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, coding, entrepreneurship and technology-enabled service delivery. President Joseph Nyuma Boakai Sr. also announced July 21 as Liberia’s official Technology Day.

UNDP representatives said Liberia’s young people remain central to the country’s technology ambitions, noting that investments in digital skills and innovation can support jobs, entrepreneurship and stronger governance.

The event also highlighted partnerships with the University of Liberia, Orange Liberia and the UNIPOD Innovation and Digital Hub, alongside the creation of the Office of Technology, Digitalization and Innovation as a central coordinating body for government-wide digital transformation.
