US$60M coffee investment moves into implementation

Liberia Moves Ahead With US$60M Coffee Investment Targeting 200,000 Farmers

The Government of Liberia and JR Farms Group have signed an implementation agreement under the Liberia Coffee Prosperity Partnership, a 20-year program running from 2026 to 2045.

The project is expected to support nearly 200,000 smallholder farmers across Bomi, Bong, Lofa, Nimba, Grand Gedeh, Maryland and Grand Cape Mount, with activities including improved seedlings, nurseries, farmer training, processing and market access.

The Agriculture Ministry’s earlier official announcement says the broader agreement envisions more than US$60 million in investment, over 250,000 hectares of coffee development and potentially more than 300,000 direct and indirect jobs over two decades. Those figures are projected targets, not jobs or investment already delivered.
